The People Behind the Mission

Allison Smith, CPA, serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Texas Housing Foundation, where she leads the organization’s efforts to create and preserve affordable housing opportunities through meaningful partnerships, responsible financial stewardship, and a commitment to stronger communities.

Allison joined Texas Housing Foundation in 2009 and has held several leadership roles within the organization, including Director of Finance and Chief Operating Officer. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2006. Her experience spans affordable housing, property management, acquisitions, development, finance, and public-private partnerships.

As CEO, Allison is proud of the relationships Texas Housing Foundation has built with cities across Texas and the role those partnerships play in addressing local housing needs. She brings a collaborative, relationship-focused leadership style to her work, along with a financially disciplined and mission-driven approach to long-term organizational sustainability.

Allison is a Certified Public Accountant and is actively involved in the affordable housing industry. She is on the Texas Affiliation of Affordable Housing Providers (TAAHP) Foundation board and participates in TAAHP committees. She also serves as Treasurer of the Hill Country Children’s Advocacy Center, continuing a long-standing commitment to community service.

Outside of work, Allison enjoys traveling with her boys and hiking.
